Southern Initiative FOA Release – Memphis TGA

The National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO) and the Memphis Ryan White Program are pleased to announce a funding opportunity for the Southern Initiative, a three-year initiative aimed at improving HIV outcomes among minority populations in the Southern United States. This project is an exciting opportunity to implement effective, innovative interventions to improve HIV-related health outcomes among minority populations in the Memphis Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program Part A Transitional Grant Area (TGA). The attached announcement solicits applications from organizations that offer HIV prevention and/or care and treatment services in the Memphis TGA.

One organization will be selected to receive service delivery funding and technical assistance to implement evidence-based/informed interventions aimed at improving outcomes across the HIV care continuum and reducing disparities among minority populations, with a focus on men who have sex with men, youth, cisgender and transgender women, and people who inject drugs. Organizations eligible to respond to the FOA include, but are not limited to: federally-qualified health centers, community health centers, or clinics offering a similar array of services, and community-based organizations. Collaborative applications between organizations are also encouraged.

The FOA for applicants located in the Memphis TGA can be found at http://essentialelements.naccho.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Southern-Initiative-FOA_Memphis_FINAL.pdf.

About the 2024 National Ryan White Conference

HRSA’s HIV/AIDS Bureau (HAB) is committed to enriching the experience of the community. Therefore, we are excited to announce the 2024 NRWC will use a hybrid model, which will allow HRSA HAB to incorporate both in-person attendance and virtual participation opportunities, providing conference participants flexibility in how they choose to attend.

The virtual component of the NRWC will utilize the Chime online platform, which was used for the 2020 and 2022 conferences. All RWHAP recipients, providers, subrecipients, federal, national, state, and local organizations supporting the HIV community, and people with HIV are encouraged to participate in the 2024 NRWC.

On behalf of the Health Resources and Services Administration’s (HRSA) HIV/AIDS Bureau, we look forward to participating in the 2024 National Ryan White Conference on HIV Care & Treatment on August 20-23, 2024.  The theme for this year’s National Conference is “Innovating to End the HIV Epidemic: Empowering Communities, Expanding Partnerships, Implementing Interventions.”
